Talkimals is a talking-animal companion app made for children and their families. We built it to be private by design: your child talks to their animal friend, and the app is designed so that conversations are understood and answered on the device itself. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect.
The short version
- We do not require an account, login, name, or email to use the app.
- Your child's voice is processed on the device to understand speech and is not uploaded to us or stored on a server.
- The profile you set (a first name or nickname, age, and language) is stored only on your device.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles of children.
Information processed on your device
- Voice. When your child taps the microphone and speaks, the recording is converted to text and answered by an on-device AI model. This happens locally on the iPhone/iPad; the audio is not sent to Talkimals' servers.
- Profile. The first name/nickname, age, gender and chosen language are saved in the app's local storage on your device to personalize the experience. You can change or clear them at any time in Settings, or by deleting the app.
- Progress. Level and stars are stored locally on the device.
Information handled by trusted services
- Purchases (Apple). Talkimals+ subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Subscription management (RevenueCat). We use RevenueCat to manage and validate Talkimals+ subscriptions. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID together with your purchase and subscription status from Apple. It never receives your name, email address, or payment details, and we do not link this ID to your child's profile. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Notifications (OneSignal). If you enable notifications, our provider OneSignal receives a device push token and basic device information needed to deliver reminders. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.
- Advertising (Google AdMob), free version only. Free users may see occasional full-screen ads. Ad requests are configured as child-directed under COPPA: Google serves only non-personalized, general-audience (G-rated) ads and does not use the device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for these ads. Subscribing to Talkimals+ removes ads entirely.
Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)
Talkimals is intended for children with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described above and stored on the device. Ads (in the free version) are limited to non-personalized, child-directed inventory. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Data retention & deletion
Because the profile, progress, and conversation memory live on your device, you can remove all of it at any time by deleting the app. No server-side account exists to delete.
Your choices
- Turn notifications on/off in the app's Settings.
- Remove ads and unlock everything with a Talkimals+ subscription.
- Delete the app to remove all locally stored data.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
